Duties

Tokio Marine is adding to our team of Corporate Underwriting experts.
We are seeking individuals who committed to a diverse and collaborative culture, who will work towards developing innovative solutions for our customers, business units, and clients.

 

The Opportunity

The Corporate Underwriting team is responsible for underwriting governance, product development, risk management and compliance strategies that conform to our risk appetite.

This means developing guidelines, processes, products, rates, rules, tools and controls that business segments will utilize in their day to day decisions.

 

 

Job Summary:

Assisting Casualty Product Manager in developing, managing and/or updating underwriting, pricing and product strategy for commercial and personal auto business that positions Tokio Marine to meet clients’ needs, build company revenues and achieve our corporate profit and return on risk objectives.

 

 

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Assist management in the assessment of the portfolio to ensure profitability
  2. Monitors rate adequacy, works with the  Actuarial team on profitability analysis, rate changes,  pricing of new coverages and products  and assists in the development of a pricing strategy
  3. Supports product development including  associated pricing and underwriting tools and reviewing policy forms with Claims and Legal
  4. Assists in the development of Underwriting guidelines and rules  for execution by Field Underwriting
  5. Provides general expertise to TMA Field Underwriting on rate, rule and form issues.
  6. Participates in Underwriting Reviews of Field Business Segments and supports internal audits and Market Conduct exams.
  7. Collaborates and maintains strong relationships with all internal departments
  8. Assist in the implementation of  compliance specifications including the development of tools and resources necessary to maintain compliance requirements
  9. Assists the CUW and TMA Executive leadership in initiatives, projects and general areas for assigned lines.
  10. Designs and supports training as needed
  11. Collaborates, designs, reviews and/or recommends policies, procedure and technology to improve operational efficiency, underwriting profitability and regulatory compliance.
  12. Responsible for complying with proper internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions and/or carry out responsibilities and/or administrative activities at Company.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • College Degree or equivalent preferred
  • CPCU or equivalent Professional designation preferred
  • Minimum of 3 Years in auto Underwriting or Product Development
  • Knowledge of ISO  and independent state bureau requirements
  • Experience with Underwriting  Audits preferred
  • Extensive Personal Computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written Communication skills
