Duties

Job Summary:

Responsible for providing accounting services to a large group of producers.  This assignment will include some challenging producers who will require more in-depth reconciliation and collection follow up with internal and external contacts.  Accurately apply producer payments and perform reconciliation over all premium and commission entries.  Pursue the timely collection of premium.  Assist in achieving other department objectives.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Review, arrange to mail and perform continuous maintenance over monthly Agency Statements for assigned producers.
  2. Take daily action to ensure cash receipts are applied accurately and timely in the RBS system.
  3. Investigate and initiate action to correct premium or commission discrepancies between producer remittance and premiums written/billed by the production departments.
  4. Follow up with producers to address unpaid premiums.
  5. Refer past-due accounts to Underwriting/Coordination for cancellation or direct collection consideration.
  6. Perform monthly review over specific management reports and provide corrective action comments to ensure transactions do not exceed company standards.
  7. Prioritize work to be able to cover for other team members when they are not able to come to work.
  8. Meet all required deadlines and communicate regularly with Manager if unable to meet or exceed expectation.
  9.    Responsible for complying with proper internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions and/or carry out responsibilities and/or administrative activities at Company.

  1. Perform other duties as may be assigned.
  2. Regular and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

  • College Degree preferred
  • Three or more years of experience as an accounting assistant III or equivalent
  • Good mathematical and analytical ability
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • PC experience with MS office
